Dr Dana CROSBY
Professor
Department of Otolaryngology Southern Illinois University Springfield, IL USA Dr. Crosby serves as Chair, Residency Program Director, and Professor in the Department Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She is also the Director of the Division of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery and the Director of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Crosby obtained her medical degree from Drexel University. She completed her residency training at Southern Illinois University and went on to complete a fellowship in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Since that time, she has served as faculty at Southern Illinois University. While serving as faculty at SIU, she obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Dr. Crosby’s clinical practice includes sinus surgery and endoscopic approaches to the skull base and orbit in pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Crosby’s research interests include understanding factors that impact outcomes following endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, gender disparity in medicine, and leadership in medicine. Dr. Crosby is the Associate Editor for the sinonasal disorders section of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She is a member of the editorial board of both Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology. She has serves on multiple committees for AAO-HNSF, ARS, and AAOA. She is the Chair of the Rhinology Training Council and she serves on the Foundation Board for the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Dr. Crosby is passionate about education and has been nominated “SIU Surgical Educator of the Year” and Otolaryngology educator of the year and has received additional awards in education annually. She has been an invited lecturer at numerous national and international conferences where she has discussed a variety of rhinologic topics and demonstrated cadaveric Rhinologic and skull base dissections. |
